Gisteren hoorde ik op het nieuws prins Hassan van Jordanië een positieve boodschap verkondigen. Het kan, naar zijn mening, geen toeval zijn dat Kerst en het Offerfeest dit jaar samen vallen. Een kans op toenadering tussen christenen en moslims. Ook mooi en hoopgevend vond ik de Kerstgroet van moslims aan christenen. Valt het tij te keren? Kunnen we nader tot elkaar komen in het nieuwe jaar? Ik hoop het van harte!

Yesterday I heard a positive message from Prince Hassan of Jordania on the news. To his mind, it can be no coincidence that Christmas and the Feast of Sacrifice are on the same date this year. An opportunity for more understanding and tolerance between christians and muslims. What also moved me, were the Christmas greetings from muslims to christians. Can we change the tide? Can we come closer to one another in the year to come? I sincerely hope so!
